Kindness. Love. Sharing. These are concepts we teach our children on a regular basis. I know I try to do so with my son every chance I get. And, yet, I am saddened to see that there are many adults in this world who do not practice these concepts. Instead, they worry about what is theirs, put their needs first, and show a general lack of respect for others’ thoughts, feelings, and opinions. I must admit I occasionally find myself in this group, but I try hard to stay out of it and practice what I teach my son. I wish I could say the same for more people in this group. So, I challenge you, too, to reach out with love and kindness to share what you have every chance you get. Even if it is just a smile and a hello. Let me know how it goes for you and I will do the same.
It has been interesting to discover all the craziness that has been built into my house through various home improvement projects prior to when we bought it. So, as we do things around our house to make it ours, we are finding the odd things previous owners have done, such as the ten miles of coaxial cable strung throughout the house in random ways and the caulking along many of the baseboards and door trim (not just in the bathroom or kitchen either). I am still trying to figure out the purpose of caulking the trim in the house, because they were nailed in so it was not to hold the boards on.
What is it with little kids and their energy? I swear my son gets more energy the more he runs and plays. I would pay good money to have that much energy at times. Just imagine all the things I could get done if I had the energy of a four-year-old. I would also love to be able to sleep that much, too.
I was commenting on the issue of kindness on Facebook recently. Kindness is not something that is taught by parents these days. And kids learn behaviors from their parents, which makes it worse. My wife and I have to catch ourselves in how we treat one another and other people. We want our kids to be better mannered than us, even though we are improving.

That is a good point. It isn’t being taught as much as it should be anymore.
