100 Word Challenge: Disaster

Hey, y’all! How’s it going? This week’s 100 Word Challenge from Tara at Thin Spiral Notebook feels rather apropos for me – my life kinda feels like a disaster right now. Not that things are going bad, per se, just crazy and never enough time to be organized or anything and it’s driving my ADHD issues nuts. Anyway, here’s what I came up with for this week’s 100 Word Challenge while coming home on the train today.

A Natural Disaster

Whirling spirals dancing through
As if there’s not a care in the world.Composite Natural Disaster Image.png

Flashes of light within the darkness
Illuminate little while dazzling the eye.

Such brilliant beauty a siren’s song
To those who love a thrill.

Hearts go wild when she floats by,
Emotions run rampant in her wake.

Yet that beauty comes at a price
Paid by those who are left behind.

A trail of destruction a mile wide
Follows her every step.

Those hearts are broken
When her magic is gone.

Her mark has been left in the hearts and minds
Of all who witness her passage.

Be sure to stop by Thin Spiral Notebook to see what others did with this prompt and exactly 100 words!
