Tonight I bring you Stephanie Ayers, Co-founder of Our Write Side Inc. and author of a new collection of creepy stories called The 13 Tales of Illusory coming out October 4th.

Music and writing, how does it work for you?

Since I have really, really bad hearing, I tend to work in silence. Every so often, though, a song will inspire me. I recently wrote a story to Metallica’s Enter Sandman. You’ll be able to read it next year in the literary journal, OWS Inked.

If you were stranded in the middle of nowhere with no hope of rescue for at least 2 weeks, what 3 things would you make sure to have with you?

Since I have no idea when that would happen, I’d have to say that I’d have the same things on me I never leave home without… my cellphone, my credit card, and my sanity, not necessarily in that order.

What’s your favorite part about writing? Least favorite?

My favorite part of writing is bringing the characters and the places they go to life. I love escaping through words, and writing spec fic really does that for me.

My least favorite part about writing is waiting for reviews. I need them to go up in rank, but they scare me too.

If you could meet one fictional character, who would it be and why?

I really want to meet Dustfinger from Inkheart. He’s an antihero that just stole my heart. He’s so sad, yet so determined. I just want to cheer him up and I’d love to join him for a good old fashioned middle ages festival and watch him spit fire.

What is the one piece of advice you would want all aspiring authors to know?

“One single letter cures the blank page.” Stephanie Ayers

Once again, The 13 is coming out October 4th, be sure to watch for it! In the mean time. please consider supporting the Daycause and Thunderclap campaigns to spread the word.
